In Spring 2011, the Proficiency Project is about learning an unfamiliar technology and writing a 3-5 page summary of your experience. Before selecting a project idea, it may be good to first Read the Proficiency Project Guidelines (PDF) and consider the following:

  • Find and learn to use online GeoGebra activities
  • Understand documents and sliders in the TI-Nspire
  • Create professional quality Geometry worksheets in Microsoft Word 2010
  • Construct an extended Algebra I activity with TI-Nspire
  • Learn cell functions and cell formatting in Microsoft Excel
  • Use the TI-Nspire with the TI-Navigator and teacher software
  • Learn to make a web-based Jeopardy review game
  • Learn to make graphs and do basic statistics in Microsoft Excel
  • Explore PowerPoint for Elementary teaching
  • Create a professionally-styled tutorial document in Microsoft Word
  • Use Movie Maker for students to produce video slideshows in Geometry
  • Create a WebQuest on triangles
  • Create step-by-step instructions for exploring graphing with the TI-Nspire
  • Explore lines and inequalities with the TI-Nspire
  • Learn to create and deliver a test through the TI-Navigator wit the TI-Nspire
  • Create a video mini-lesson on linear equations in standard and y-intercept form
  • Use Tandberg and Skype to video conference with absent students
