Maryam Rahnemoonfar received her Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from University of Salford, Manchester, UK, 2010. She received her M.S. degree in Remote Sensing Engineering from University of Tehran in 2005 and B.S. degree in Civil Engineering-Geomatics from University of Isfahan in 2002. Since 2014 she has been an Assistant Professor of Computer Science in the School of Engineering and Computing Sciences, Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. Before joining tamucc, she was a visiting scholar in Data to Insight Center, Indiana University in 2013 and Assistant Professor in Isfahan University, 2011-2012.


Dr. Rahnemoonfar is the director of the Bina Lab, Computer Vision and Remote sensing Laboratory, Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. She is interested in Computer Vision and its applications in Remote Sensing, Document Image Analysis, and Environmental Sciences. For an overview of her research, please visit Bina Lab.



Bina Lab is looking for a top-quality, highly motivated student in the area of Computer Vision and/or Remote Sensing. Candidates must hold a BSc, MSc or equivalent degree in Computer Science, Geomatics, or related fields (Electrical Engineer, Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, Mathematics).  The successful candidate should have strong programming skills. Research background in Remote Sensing, Computer Vision, Environmental Modeling and Mathematics are a plus. The PhD candidate will be required to apply for enrollment as a PhD student at the Geospatial Computing Sciences program at Texas A&M university-Corpus Christi.
