Robert J. Vokurka is a professor of operations management at Texas A&M University - Corpus Christi. He serves as chair of the Department of Finance, Economics, and Decision Sciences. He earned his Ph.D. at Texas A&M University - College Station in operations management and had been on the Industrial Distribution faculty in the College of Engineering at Texas A&M prior to his current appointment. He also holds an MBA from Northwestern University and a BA from Albion College (Michigan).
Vokurka has published over fifty papers in journals such as Journal of Operations Management, International Journal of Forecasting, International Journal of Operations and Production Management, and Production and Inventory Management Journal, and several others. He has nearly twenty-five years of industry experience including positions of Plant Manager and Division Controller. He holds certifications in accounting, resource management, purchasing, and quality including CPA, CMA, CFPIM, CIRM, C.P.M., CQE, CQIA, and CQM. He is an active member of APICS, The Association for Operations Management is currently the Secretary-Treasurer and a member of the Board of Directors. He has also served as an examiner for the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award and is currently a member of the Panel of Judges for the Texas Award for Performance Excellence.
