Get to Know Your Instructor

Dr. A. N. M. Waheeduzzaman is a Professor of Marketing and International Business in the College of Business, Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi (TAMUCC). He has been teaching at TAMUCC since 2000 at both graduate and undergraduate levels. Previously, he taught at Salisbury State University (Maryland), University of New Haven (Connecticut), North South University (Bangladesh), and Dhaka University (Bangladesh).

He received his Ph.D. in Business Administration from Kent State University, Ohio. He has two MBAs, one in International Business from George Washington University, Washington, D.C. and the other in Marketing from Institute of Business Administration, Dhaka University, Bangladesh.

His research interests are international competitiveness, globalization, marketing standardization-adaptation, modernization, economic convergence, country branding, emerging markets and business ethics. Most of these topics are interdisciplinary in nature, making his research unique.

His publications appeared in the Journal of Global Marketing, Journal of Global Business, Journal of Transnational Management Development, Competitiveness Review, Midwestern Journal of Business and Economics, Journal of Management, Business and Economics, and Proceedings of the American Marketing Association.

He is in the editorial board and serves as a reviewer of the following journals: Competitiveness Review, Advances in Competitiveness Research, Journal of Global Competitiveness and SAM Advanced Management Journal. He also serves as reviewer for various other journals and professional conferences in marketing and international business topics.

He received a few distinctions for his academic and professional achievement. He has received University Excellence Award in Research at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. He also received awards for Excellence in Teaching at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi and University of New Haven, Connecticut.

As a guest speaker he presented at the World Affairs Council, Young Business Professionals of America, the Rotary Club of Dhaka, the Executives Club, and Delta Sigma Pi. At the Mayor’s appointment, he served for six years on the Corpus Christi Library Board.

He is a member of the American Marketing Association, Academy of International Business, American Society for Competitiveness, International Management Development Association, Society for Advancement of Management, and National Geographic Society. He actively participates in the professional conferences of the above associations as presenter, reviewer, discussant and chair.

He has been elected to the membership of honor societies like Beta Gamma Sigma (George Washington University), Phi Beta Delta (Kent State University), Alpha Mu Alpha (American Marketing Association) and Sigma Beta Delta (University of New Haven).

He enjoys teaching, reading, writing, publishing and traveling and has traveled to over 20 countries of the world.
